Vision

Health Impact Assessment Research Center is a research center focusing on producing and developing personnel, body of knowledge, tools used in impact assessment and research covering the following areas:

  1. Investigating, conducting research and developing the body of knowledge in area-based health impact assessment according to the development plan for the southern part of Thailand aiming at enhancing the body of knowledge in health impact assessment from strategies, policies, plans and projects in the southern part as follows:
    1) Development of methodology and procedure of health impact assessment
    2) Rapid health impact assessment in the Special Economic Development Zone, Songkhla Province
    3) Public scoping and guidelines for health impact assessment in the Special Economic Development Zone, Songkhla Province
    4) Model of health impact assessment for sub-district health constitution
    5) Model of health impact assessment from the development plan of the southern part
    6) Development of a model for follow-ups and evaluation
    7) People’s participation process on the stage of Kho. 1, Kho. 2, and Kho. 3 in the  Special Economic Development Zone, Songkhla Province
  1. Health impact assessment for community-based learning in the community focusing on creating body of knowledge to strengthen community potential in health impact assessment leading to forming public policy at the community level as follows:
    1) Scoping of health impact assessment with people’s participation in the case of the Thai-Malaysia Gas Separation Plant
    2) Model of health impact assessment by the community, a case study of the Biomass Power Plant
    3) Health impact assessment by the community in community tourism, Krabi Province
    4) Health impact assessment by the community in community tourism, Trang Province
    5) Development of guidelines for health impact assessment by the community
    6) Application of guidelines for health impact assessment by the community, a case study of the local fund attached to the National Health Security Office (NHSO), Zone 11, Surat Thani Province
  1. Health impact assessment in the case of issue-based policies, plans, and projects focusing on creating body of knowledge and evidence-based data to support decision-making on improving and changing health impact assessment policy using cost-benefit analysis in the case of mining policy of Thailand.
